The seeds for art existed in me from early childhood, but it took most of a lifetime for those seeds to take root and grow. My personal adventure into creating art began to blossom in my early 50’s when I participated in my first group exhibit in 2002.
Being
mostly self-educated in art, I am happily unencumbered by traditional
rules, preferring instead to experiment and learn as I create. In
continually exploring new ways of combining paper, fabric, fibers, and
cast-off objects in my art, I find I am able to produce strange,
whimsical, and sometimes exotic effects. I am passionate about bright colors, textures, and layering; and working in mixed media frees me to experiment and play.
On a deeper level, art is a means of self-exploration. In all my artistic endeavors, I find that the art seems to evolve on its own, carrying me along with it on our shared journey.
My work appears in several private and public collections.
